How it works
Once I have been approached by the couple wanting me as their marriage celebrant, I like to meet the couple (via skype if necessary).
It is important that we both get well acquainted as being comfortable with one another is a cornerstone to creating a successful day. It is important for me to know the family 'dynamics' and relationships so as to deliver an appropriately tailored service.
I am here to offer guidance in many ways and to help you explore what you really want for the ceremony, including offering suggestions of wedding vows, poems, and/or readings and whether you wish to include religious content or not. I am also happy to discuss broader ceremony arrangements if required (drawing upon my event management background).
There are always legal formalities such as obtaining the marriage certificate. These matters need to be ‘ticked off’ and continued communication about the ceremony is also important.
I pride myself on always being available to talk to clients about these issues as it is vital for completely free and open communication in order to create a unique and special ceremony.
It is customary to have a rehearsal before the day of the ceremony .I facilitate this, guiding the couple and other participants through the ceremony.
On the big day, I ensure that I present a ceremony that can be enjoyed by everyone present.
My commitment to each couple is that their ceremony reflects who they are and what they want to say –to their friends and family and to each other.
You are reminded “It is your day… so make it the happiest day of your lives”.
